What to Wear on Red for Ed Wednesdays

Red for Ed tee.
Spread the love

My new school has a tradition—teachers wear red on Wednesdays to show solidarity and stand up for public education. I’m all in on the movement, but realized my closet is completely lacking in anything red! That sent me on a mission to find the perfect red pieces to proudly wear to school on Wednesdays and become a strong advocate for this cause.

Start with Teacher Tee

After searching Amazon and Etsy and not finding anything I loved, I made a tee myself. Sometimes simple is best.

Other Internet Finds

A red pant like these from Zara can be worn all year with lots of different tops and in many different ways. Other options can be found here, here, and for the fashion girlies… these.
Whenever picking clothes for school, I always consider adding a sweater, since we never know if the air conditioner will be working! This one from J Crew checks all of my boxes for a good purchase; 100% cotton , v-neck, and flexible in any wardrobe.
Red sweater from the Gap.
Gap always has great options. There are many from the CashSoft line like the one above, but there are other options, too. Take a look at these here and here.

A Red Shoe!

A red shoe is always a fun addition to the teacher’s closet. These are in my Nordstrom cart, and the likely winner.
My friends who wear Rothy’s swear by their comfort. These flats are cute, but pricy. Some less expensive options can be found here, here, and here.

Birkenstocks

A red clog.
Birkenstocks have been my go to school shoe for years. The color of these is called Zinfandel, which is close enough to red for me. A dupe that’s also more red in color can be found here.
